BlackBerry OS 4.5 Drops

BlackBerry OS 4.5 Released

BlackBerry OS 4.5 Released

BlackBerry’s newest operating system just released, but with a catch!

The BlackBerry OS 4.5 makes it’s release from MTS Mobility, the third largest telecommunications provider in Canada, and is ready for downolad. The new OS is available for CDMA Blackberry Pearl 8130 and BlackBerry Curve 8330 users. While the download is straight from MTS, it will work for anyone with these model numbers regardless of carrier.

I’ve been dicecting the comments and problems around the forums with this download and installation and have noticed there are a few issues you could run into. Lots of people are getting an error code “9003” which seems to be more of a time out error due to the flood of downloads, this really isn’t anything to worry about. A few have mentioned that even with this being an offical release, it’s not much better then they beta and still has some bugs to work out. Our biggest concern is from RIMarkable saying “you may have to delete the vendor.xml file to get the install to run on your device”, I reallize this isn’t a terrible thing to do, but i still dont think i should have to if this is an offical release.

I think i’m gonna hold out for Verizon to release this OS or maybe even hold out for OS 4.6 which is still set to be released very soon. Hopefully you guys on your 8830’s and 8703e’s will get OS 4.5 soon we’ll tell you as soon as we hear more about it. Click the links below to get the full dowlonad and instructions.
