BlackBerry Javelin Confidential

BlackBerry Javelin

BlackBerry Javelin

We’ve known about the BlackBerry Javelin for a little while now. With a release date set for the end of the year or possibly (and more likely) early 2009, it’s nice to see some images with specs leak out into the community. Crackberry’s own Kevin Michaluk managed to snag some “strictly confidential” images, from what appears to be RIM’s own files. Listed specs and more images after the jump!

It’s still being debated what the device number for the BlackBerry Javelin will be; some have speculated it to be the BlackBerry 9300 or more likely the BlackBerry 8900 (being in essence an updated version of the BlackBerry 8300 Curves). The Javelin is set to be the last of the new set of BlackBerrys to be dropped in the near future. Starting with the Curve (already out), then on to the Bold (out some places, still waiting to debut in Canada and the US); from there it’s a toss up between the Kickstart (likely to be out first) or the BlackBerry Storm (also know as Thunder) and finally finishing out this fantastic launch list is the BlackBerry Javelin.

The Javelin will be sporting some nice specs, as follows:

  • 512 MHz Processor (not quite up to the 624MHz of the Bold)
  • 256 MB on board flash memory
  • Hot-swappable microSD slot – located under the battery door
  • 480 by 360 high-res HVGA+ display
  • 3.2MP camera
  • Micro USB charging/syncing port, w/ high speed data

The images that follow are slightly dated and some minor changes have possibly been made, but these pictures can give you a good idea about what your looking at if you’re thinking about picking up this BlackBerry. Hopefully, as we get closer to its inevitable launch we’ll see some more images leaked out.
